Bury
The village of Bury lies to the east of the A29 about midway between Arundel and Pulborough, and is twelve and a half miles by river from the sea. Bury has no bridge but there was a ferry until the 1960s. The river at Bury is tidal but its range is less than downriver, so the flow is correspondingly reduced. The riverside here is dominated by the old church and manor house complex.
